  1. 'Women have been represented in so many various ways from being objects to being there own independent ball busting femme fetals.(here where the theory is applied) Laura Mulvey professes that “all film is shot from the male gaze” I believe that my production challenges this concept as the female character is in fact watching the band throughout the video and therefore it is shot from the female’s perspective. We where influenced by such media texts as Skrooms where the monstrous character is watching over her pray and therefore also shot from a feminine angel. John Berger said “men act women appear” I believe that these feminine representation are truly challenged in our production as our female character drives the narrative as without her it would just be a band walking through the woods and she adds an element of danger. I think that these theories of how women are represented in media are challenged so much in the current day that they have become out of date. This proven in our production.'

  3. 'Demont said that there was 8 different stages to Narrative, two of these stages apply to my video very well, the two stages are;
    Successful:

    'Romeo and Juliet' and 'Tristan and Iseult.' I chose Romeo and Juliet as the narrative in my music video tells a love story, with the girl and boy being in love, getting engaged in a 'fairytale' setting. The 'Tristan and Iseult' stage on the other hand, is more of a 'love triangle' which to an extent is apparent in the video as the female character is engaged, but due to the argument that happens just after, she goes off with another member of the band, forming a triangle, between the love she has for her fioncee, or the lust she feels for the other member.'

  4. Unsuccessful:
    -use of terminology, and the structure of the conclusion.
    - need to refer back to other examples (influences)

  5. "Throughout my music video it is clear that many stereotypes are portrayed. Martin Barker says stereotypes are condemned for misrepresenting the ‘real world’. Stereotypical teenagers typically drink alcohol and behave recklessly. This links to the theme of alcohol in my music video, We know that not all teenagers are like this but my music video suggests that they are by only showing this side to them. This stereotype is made clear during the close up scenes of shots being poured and drank in the narrative side of my video and also during the scenes set in a club."

    I could have gone into more detail on the analysis and how my music video reflects this theory but I have linked it to specific points in my coursework production.
